Typing Wet On A Computer

Raindrops falling on my head coming from a leak on the roof a hole that a bird's peck had made during the summer. A storm rages outside howling winds snapping branches angry clouds keeping me in my hermitage dry except for the leak on the roof.. Sign in to see full entry.

Help me, O Sweet Jesus!

The other day I was invited for the first time to talk to Grade School students about the life of St. Augustine. I hit it off quite well with teen-agers and young adults, but with the wide-eyes-and-innocent-smile-group I simply fold up. Hard to breathe Cold sweat pouring Butterflies in my tummy And... Busy

Cigarette butts and ashes ashtray overflowing a lighted Marlboro balanced on the brim. Black coffee in a cup steaming hot and sweet waiting to be stirred. Pen and paper an open book, index cards all scattered a sleepy head cradled on an arm. Sign in to see full entry.

The cellphone buzzes a message has been sent... Sign in to see full entry.

Here I Stand

Still dizzy with lack of sleep I make my way on arthritic feet up the steps to your altar of mercy Introibo. The cold morning air wafts through a broken window making me shiver in vestments colorless and threadbare reminding me of my mortality Asperge me. I look up and see your little flock... Tell Pedro Not To Stop!

Ding dong ding dong A distant ringing comes closer images fade to a distance as slumber turns to awakening. Ding dong ding dong that persistent ringing again in my ears as cool water splashes on my face Ding dong ding dong "Labia mea aperies" Ding dong ding dong "Gloria Patri et Filio et Spiritui... The Wrong String

I pluck the strings of my old guitar and hear that offending flat and I remember how our friendship has turned sour. I turn the caps and tighten the strings and the flat turns to sharp and I remember how correcting you made you turn away from me. I turn the cap to the right I turn the cap to the...
