The day before departure

Last time, I left some clothes behind so that this time I can travel lighter. I needed extra space in the luggage to bring home the various items purchased for the costuming shop, and gifts and souvenirs. Longest sunset...

Seven hours it took the sun to set, as we chased it 3600 miles across the planet yesterday... Rainy day excursion

We went north yesterday across the green and grey rolling landscape towards Bolton Abbey in Yorkshire. It's another old roofless relic of the Dissolution of the Abbeys by Henry VIII and his Cromwell. Lancashire landscapes, etc...

The weather was cloudy mostly with bits of sunlight today, and we drove to the town of Skipton where there is a castle--but after a bit of walking through the town and lunch, we decided to save the castle tour for another day. Why there are not more photos

54 degrees North Latitude vs 39 degrees North Latitude... That's the difference between Walley, Lancashire UK and Colorado Springs, CO USA. Via Iceland

The flight was not as long as some journeys to visit my middle child: only 6 1/2 hours from Denver to Reykjavik, then about 30 minutes standing around between planes, and another 2 1/2 hours to Manchester.
