Birthday; Father-in-law

Today is #1 daughter's 37th birthday. It doesn't seem so very long ago that I was complaining about feeling old on my 37th birthday. Time flies. She is dealing with so much right now, but handling it with such grace, strength, and perseverance. Extremely proud of her. More from my Father-in-law...... Sign in to see full entry.

Father-in-law, cont.

When I arrived at the Brooklyn Receiving Station and started to school, I found out that some of my school mates from other ships, who were taking the same course I was, had rented apartments and sent for their wives. I loved the idea and so did Mickey. We spent 4 wonderful months in New York back... Sign in to see full entry.

Weekend;Father-in-law, cont.

Ok I have had enough of this weather. 110 yesterday! Too hot to do anything. Although it does give me a chance to stay inside and watch the Olympics. I admit it. I am the recliner with the remote sports nut while my husband watches the history channel. Speaking of history, here is the next... Sign in to see full entry.

Father-in-law, third installment

It is so hot here, 106. Can't do much of anything but stay inside. However, today my oldest daughter, her daughter, and I are going to my middle daughters to have a girls night and then on to my niece's baby shower tomorrow. On to my father-in-law: You have heard enough about wars and the like for... Sign in to see full entry.

Father-In Law, cont.

Here is the second installment of my Father-in-law's story: Soon after returning to Kansas, I learned there was a chance of working for a Construction Co. down at what was known then as the Great Salt Plains, just east of Cherokee, Oklahoma. It took influence in those days to even get a pick and... Sign in to see full entry.

As I was cleaning out my husband's mancave, I came across some very interesting memories. One of which is a personal account of my father-in-law's life that he wrote. I thought I would share it with you all in installments. I have always heard that if and when you try to write something such as a... Sign in to see full entry.

Woke up this morning to a flooded basement. My husband had the water on yesterday spraying the wasp nest that those pests built inside and between my screen door and my outside door. He was trying to be helpful because everytime I opened the door I got attacked. Unfortunately, he forgot to turn off... Sign in to see full entry.

Colorado Shooting

What a terrible tragedy. My prayers are with the victims and their families, but they are also with the shooter and his family. We have mental illness in our family. My sister is schizophrenic. Fortunately, we were able to get her in a group home where her meds are administered to her daily and she... Sign in to see full entry.

Went to one grandson's third birthday at Pump It Up - those huge inside inflatables that the kids love and the adults hate. It was fun though. Have a different three year old grandson spending the night. He is so stinkin funny. He loves my homemade granola so I made a fresh batch today. He told me... Sign in to see full entry.

Husband is home

Well, hubby is home. Feels weird. I was worried about how to learn to live on my own again and just when I feel I've reached that point, here I go again. Having to re-learn how to be married. I am happy to have a sober husband home again but there is a certain, I don't know, tension is too strong a... Sign in to see full entry.
