HEALING

As I dip my hand into the pond I see a reflection-I stop and stare. The girl I see is pure, sweet, kind, pretty, innocent, and free Is it I? NO! It can’t be me. A tear rolls down that girl’s cheek Longing to be released from the guilt. Long ago in a time that has passed A secret long held, took place in that girl’s past. Here, in this very spot-near the cottage in the grass Unleashed a viscous animal Pain untold-found only in Hell Her body was tortured, ravished, and raped She was already...
