Death comes to each at the appointed time. Not too soon, nor too late for those who wait. While Thomas states to not “go gently into that good night,” it is only so each and every breath can be given in love and assurance of the introduction of the Divine to all. Death comes not to scare nor to end, but to accompany one to the next path, the new beginning of the longest journey. Traversing now can be laborious, the weight of attachments pulling at the ankles.
