Well, gooooleee, to quote Gomer Pyle

This is another one of those people about whose writings I can offer an opinion without necessarily reviewing anything currently available. David Icke produces writings that I would call "a hoot and a half," if the material published on his website is any indication. Certain portions of the... Sign in to see full entry.

Immunizations can be a dicey topic

Talk with your doctor first if your immune system or that of your child is weak. It might save a life. I have previously written an editorial advising adults to get immunized against certain diseases - especially tetanus and the flu, but others as well. Having given that advice, I wanted to make... One ambidexterous mouse, please

We need more left-handed mice! As a devout southpaw, with no desire to change at my age, I find it hard to use a lot of computer equipment because it's oriented toward righties. (For those of you who come from Europe or other parts of the world, a "southpaw" is a lefthanded person; the term comes... Sign in to see full entry.

A miscarriage is just like the death of an already-born baby

If you know someone who has recently miscarried, they have just lost a loved one. Offer them condolences and sympathy. I think that this is the most important thing to remember for loved ones of those who have had a miscarriage. Those who have had miscarriages generally know they have had a... No man is an island

Our responsibility as writers - and therefore as artists - is to make sure we have our facts straight before we start typing. There is no such thing as the right to cry "fire" in a crowded theater if you know there is none. Similarly, there is no such thing as an artist who is entirely free from... Be careful what you pray for

You may just get it. The secular version is "Be careful what you wish for - you may just get it." In other words, people often get what is not in their best interests, and they realize it only when they get it. Just something to think about. Sign in to see full entry.

Someone else I'd like to read as much of as possible

While copying and pasting my editorial on Constance Cumbey, I realized that there is another author I have been consistently impressed with over the years - Eugenia Price. Many of you might be familiar with Price's historical fiction. This was actually the result of a fortuitous career move on her... Sign in to see full entry.

Going to college isn't babe-magnet time

Be picky, picky, picky and remember that you aren't there to get your MRS degree. One of the worst things you can do is to choose a college or university based on the "babe magnet" factor - meaning that one shouldn't be choosing on the basis of the number of good-looking members of one's gender of... One best war film (actually an anti-war film)

There are films out there that do a better job than WIZARDS at telling us that "war is hell" without pushing any other views that might be offensive. I agree with someone else on another website that the film WIZARDS, an art film animated by Ralph Bakshi, is indeed an anti-war film. The film is... Sign in to see full entry.

Trade Schools and Junior Colleges

Junior and community colleges offer programs that aren't always available at the average four-year degree-granting institutions. Yes, community colleges offer degrees called associate degrees, but that's not all. If you happen to have one handy, explore some of their career-certification options;... Sign in to see full entry.
