There's something inwardly comforting about hearing the clackety-clack, clackety-clack of trains on their way through to places near and sometimes far. Perhaps the comfort stems from the familarity it feels like of their natural rhythm responding to our own inner rhythm, sort of like friends on a walk recognising each other, waving a cheery wave across the roaded divide and continuing on.
