Changes afoot

Many changes are coming to Blogit this year. The major system upgrade and the rotating home page lists were just two of the first steps.
Coming next: additional changes to the home page, a brand-new design, and much more!
Thanks to its members, Blogit has grown tremendously over the past year, and our goal with the changes is to accelerate growth further and faster.

Home Page Changes

With the Second Phase of our upgrade now complete, we'll be making changes to the Blogit website over the next few months.

One immediate change is Blogit's decision to showcase more blogs and members. This will be based on a variety of parameters. You will now see a dynamic Top List in the right hand column. This will feature some of the more popular categories as well as the Longest-Running Blogs, for example, and various other lists.

Please note that the original Top Blogs (in the last seven days) list continues to appear in this rotation. It is also linked at the bottom of the home page, next to New Comments and Most Popular (in the last 24 hours).

Your suggestions are always welcome. Thank you!

Additional search features

BN members,
We have added some frequently requested features to Search.
First of all, you may now sort search results by date, which makes it easy to locate recent posts. To do this, simply click "Sort by: date" after searching.
An important note: for old posts (dated before this feature became available), posts will be sorted by the date they were last edited, rather than the date they were created.
Secondly, there is a new Search Members page that allows you to easily jump to any member's Profile page. To go to the new page, click "Search" and click the "Members" tab.
So search away!

Block List

Every account on BN has a block list. If a member is on your block list, they cannot contact you via the Blogging Network email forwarding system or add comments to your posts.
In the past, customer service has handled member requests for changes to a block list. You can now view and edit your block list directly. To do so, click "My Account" (at the top-right corner of any Blogging Network page) and click "View/edit block list".
To add a member to your block list, click their nickname below a post or comment and click "Add to Block List".
This is part of our ongoing effort to respond to BN customer requests for specific features that make their BN experience better.
Happy blocking!

A picture of Blogging Network's rapid growth

BN members,
We wanted to share with you how Blogging Network continues to grow since being launched in January 2003, after five months in public beta.
As you can see from the Stats on the home page, there are currently well over 200,000 posts and comments. Here's a picture of how this growth occurred over the past thirteen months.
The number of posts has grown over 1,700% since January 2003.
And the number of comments has grown a whopping 16,600%. This truly conveys the strong bonds and interaction between members of the Blogging Network community.
Thank you very much for your contribution as readers and writers. The Blogging Network community wouldn't be the same without each and every one of you!
Please let us know if you have questions.
