Skeeter and my 10 mile ride
When I was about 16, at the end of the summer I decided I was going to ride my horse Skeeter to P.R., a town about 10 miles away from our ranch if you went on the back roads. It was about 90 degrees F. that day and there were no clouds in the sky. I had a small round yellow radio that I strapped on my saddle horn. At first Skeeter was scared, but after awhile he got used to it. I remember wearing a tank top and shorts. I did get quite a sunburn by evening. When I came into town, I passed by the...
