QUESTION

Dear BN,

Several people including myself have commented on the removal of the title & first line from each post listed in the top ten. The title & first line is how people tell if something new has been posted. It is important and is still used in the featured blogs and new posts sections.

In a comment on your annoucement of changes in the News section I asked if "Since there is room to expand the top ten column vertically could you include at least the title of the most recent post? "

Can you let me know if this request is being considered?

Thanks.

Further info about Catagories Question

I think I've at least partially figured out the answer to my own question.  The "Portrait of Mr W. H." is an excellent specimin of good writing from the late 1800s and is not risque (where are the foreign character marks around here when you need them?)  I'll create a separate blog for discussions dealing with the sensual topics within this topic.  But the book itself discusses "High Art" and "The Actor as Instrument" of the Musician who is the Playright.  So, I may advertise "sexy" subjects such as homosexuality, without actually delivering pornography, and remain in the "Writing" catagory as long as we don't get graphic or sensual in our discussion of same.  No?

Blog catagory change, how to?

My most recent Blog about Oscar Wilde's "Portrait of Mr W. H." should be in the "Writing" catagory, rather than strictly with the "Arts & Entertainment" area where I've put the rest of my Shakespeare blogs.  How do I change this?  It could also get a little bit X-rated later on as Wilde and I explore the questions of Shakespeare's homosexuality and possible pedaphilia....

Just ignore my last remark (yes I know you already have).  My two day stint without a cigarette has turned me into an evil man beast.

Yes, even more than before.

Top 100, Daily

I have to admit, I miss seeing the Top 100 for the day.  If you end up making more changes, can we please have this back?  Thanks.

WHY DID YOU HAVE TO CHANGE IT AGAIN?

This is getting annoying.  You are slowly killing this place.

MORE QUESTIONS

Where are the top 100 sections? I go to both the daily and weekly top 100 on a daily basis. They are the main ways I read blogs. Now that you have changed the front page is there some other way to access the top 100.

CHANGES

The new front page looks unfinished and unprofessional. Isn't it possible to make changes while keeping the same, or a similar layout?

Also the top ten (or however many) has been made less prominent. That's probably a good idea but you have also removed the title & first line from each post. The title & first line is how people tell if something new has been posted. It is important and I notice it is still used in the featured blogs and new posts sections.

Since there is room to expand the top ten column vertically could you include at least the title of the most recent post?
