From the driver’s seat

Go karts are a kick in the ass! We went to a Fastkart track yesterday and spent 15 minutes wrestling those rental karts around a tight track. It was so much fun it probably should be illegal. Rental karts are not known for their lightning fast responses or blinding acceleration. No, they are more... Sign in to see full entry.

NASCAR vs Formula One

Is there any doubt about which is the top dog? Well yes, there is. On a recent telecast of Formula One I heard Bob Varsha opining something to the effect, “I like racetracks where the turns have names, its much better than turn one, two, three or four.” Ok, Bob, being a little provincial aren’t we?... The weekend race report

First, I placed 8 th in the Novice Electric class at the Dave Mapston Memorial radio control car race held in Spokane Washington. Racers from all over the Northwest attended this event. Racers from Oregon, Idaho, Montana and Canada were present to take part in this annual rite of fall, some 275... Sign in to see full entry.

Race update and moto photos

NaPalm Racing, for the first time in two years was at the Extreme Motorsports Production Airway Heights Washington track for the last two races in the fall series. It was with some trepidation that I returned to this track. Much has transpired since we were last here and as fate would have it, this... Sign in to see full entry.

Race Daze

Race day approaches. It has been a long time since we went motocross racing with our son, Nathan. He had a lot of success early on and gave the pro ranks a try, at least on the local level. Motocross is one of the most visceral forms of motorsport. It is intense, fast, dangerous and the spectators... Sign in to see full entry.

A day in the motordrome

Well, the TV really. First the Chinese installment of Formula One looked like it might be a repeat of the debacle in Japan with rain coming down and reports of a Typhoon in the area. The rain abated somewhat and everyone drove their intermediate tires till they were almost smooth. Lewis Hamilton... Sign in to see full entry.

Meanwhile, back at the paddock…

Strange happenings in Formula One as of late. Are they trying to get a leg up on other sports by injecting controversy? First the spying thing. I don’t really know what to make of that except that one poor bugger got caught. You know everyone does it, or at least tries to find out the other guy’s... Sign in to see full entry.

Fratz!

My steering servo crapped out on my RC race “truggy” after only about 10 minutes. Such is the lot of the motorsports competitor. Now it is barely three weeks till my initial race and I have only run three tanks of fuel through the beast. Fortunately, my son and his friend are working on it.... Sign in to see full entry.

Napalm Racing ready to go back to the track

It has been over a year since we went as support for our son, Nathan as he raced dirt bikes in motocross. Two weeks from now we are planning to go to a local race. For the first time, he will be riding a Honda 450 four-stroke. He will not be riding in the pro class since it has been some time since... Sign in to see full entry.

I tried out my race car today

The engine screamed at 20,000 rpm in a cloud of nitro-methane smoke, all four tires spewed dirt everywhere and it launched off the jump with great gusto! Then I hit the ramp crooked and rolled it over. Nothing was broken and the engine didn’t even die, so I just punched it and promptly did a 360... Sign in to see full entry.
