Phoenix Lites, Anaheim shocker.

Briefly, the Lites west race at Phoenix saw the finishers in this order, Jake Weimer, Ryan Dungey, Brett Metcalfe, Broc Hepler and Jason Lawrence in the top five. Since, apparently I am too dumb to read the TV schedule properly, I didn’t get to see the race. The finishing order tells me things are... Sign in to see full entry.

Phoenix heats up

Round two of the Supercross saw hard dirt waiting the riders in stark contrast to the mud at Anaheim 1. Reed and Stewart were on their games, winning their respective qualifiers handily. Reed had to work his way from about 5 th before he grabbed the lead, while Stewart just pinned it and led flag to... Sign in to see full entry.

One of those days

The playoffs are playing out in the football world. Some fans got to watch their teams struggle valiantly only to lose. Others watched good well fought games. Other fans, notably those of us unfortunate enough to wear the blue and green of the Seattle Seahawks aren’t sure what we saw. At first, it... Sign in to see full entry.

Adventures on two wheels

It all started with a map. We were camped along Priest Lake in northern Idaho. In those days, we considered it fine sport to take our dirt bikes and explore the surrounding terrain. Of course, being somewhat short of common sense, we decided that since we had trail bikes, we should ride a trail. So... Sign in to see full entry.

Supercross storms Anaheim

The dust hasn’t settled on the 1 st round of the AMA Monster Energy Drinks FIM Supercross series (whew, I think I got it all in) mostly because it was so wet, there was no dust, literally anyway. While it didn’t rain Saturday night during the race, the prior week of pelting had left the track pretty... Sign in to see full entry.

Some ruminations on sports.

Odd how we viewers identify with our favorite teams. Just ask a Seahawks fan tonight, but steer clear of those Redskins fans, they aren’t too happy right now. But was it really a blow out? In a sense, no and mind you, I am a Seahawks fan. But that third quarter about did me in. I thought sure they... Sign in to see full entry.

Just exactly what is JGRMX/Toyota/Yamaha?

The Home Depot #20 car this year will be a Toyota Camry? Did I read that right? Tony Stewart in a "furrin" car? And what does all this have to do with the world of dirt bike racing? Well, when a team like Joe Gibbs Racing Motocross/Toyota/Yamaha is fixing to swing it’s collective legs over those... Sign in to see full entry.

See Supercross here

The first round of Supercross will be on Speed Jan 5 at 7:00pm Pacific time. This will be a live event and should run about 3 hours. The usual schedule of events runs with the Lites class qualifiers, followed by the Premier class qualifiers, then the Lites main event followed by the Premier main... Sign in to see full entry.

Let the dance begin

Next Saturday, Supercross begins again as Anaheim kicks off the 2008 season. Those of us who follow the sport have a lot of questions. Will the riders provide the answers we are looking for? With the retirement of Ricky Carmichael, will it be Chad Reed or James Stewart stepping in to fill RC’s... Sign in to see full entry.

Another rider down

Dirt bikes and injuries seem to go hand-in-hand. So when I heard a friend of my son’s had sold his bikes and wasn’t racing any more, I naturally wondered if he had suffered an injury. I turns out he had all right, but dirt bikes didn’t have anything to do with his troubles. He has testicular cancer... Sign in to see full entry.
