Arrests made in Spokane, WA MLK bomb attemt

The breaking news here is the arrest of a suspect in the MLK day backpack bomb found in Spokane along the MLK day parade route. According to FBI reports cited by the Seattle Times, the bomb contained lead pellets coated with rat poison and was designed to do maximum damage to people had it gone off.... Fox News new theme, Twist and Shout

I know, Fox is known for the “no spin zone” and being fair and balanced. Only, really they aren’t. Fair and balanced from an arch conservative point of view, I’ll give them that and really, if you watch Fox and think they are impartial then you know what that makes you. Then there is the matter of... Sign in to see full entry.

Baby is a 4 letter word

Such a small word for such an overwhelming responsibility is what I'm talking about here. How many women decry "my biological clock is ticking, I want to have a baby" without giving much thought beyond cute outfits for that little bundle of enigma. Having the baby, as unspeakably traumatic as it is,... Sign in to see full entry.

Fate or choice?

Just how much control do we have over our lives? Today started out innocently enough, I had a Dr. appointment in Spokane, about 70 miles away. We were under a winter storm warning but as we neared Spokane the snow was sparse and the roads were mostly clear. Then about 15 miles out, it started... Sign in to see full entry.

Union busting or busted?

Wisconsin, not just for cheeseheads anymore. Sure, the governor says he is delivering on a promise made on the campaign trail, but was that promise specifically to eliminate collective bargaining for state employees? Probably not, the promise was most likely to cut spending. There are always at... Sign in to see full entry.

Do we really need to know?

Why we moan and groan during sex? Scientists have studied it and now know why we make those disgusting, yet at the same time titillating sounds in our most intimate of moments. Its because we lose control and we like it. Now, who among us hasn’t suspected as much? I know I have, only I wasn’t smart... Sign in to see full entry.

Man has been arrested 67 times.

This, in a supposed three-strike-state. Add to that, he’s only 25 years old, talk about your career criminal. He was first arrested when he was 15 years old, he was convicted for murder as a juvenile. So for ten years he is averaging 6.7 arrests per year, boy talk about not getting away with... Shirtlessgate

New York congressman Christopher Lee must have let his ego overpower his sense of duty and his place in the world. Oh wait, he’s a politician, they are all ego maniacs. I think I speak for most of “the great unwashed” when I say, when one assumes the mantle of public life, particularly on a national... Sign in to see full entry.

Mubarak doesn’t step down.

The Egyptian president sounded like a father scolding his children, yet trying to win them over by telling them they were right. Of course that was just my take from listening to the rather halting translation on television. He says he wants to bring the people to justice who rode roughshod over the... Will it be a Stupor Bowl?

Quick, more important, the snacks and drinks or the game? For everyone but Steelers or Packers fans, it’s the snacks hands down. Or should I say hand over fist. And if a full belly of chips and dip doesn’t start the eyelids drooping, those two dozen beers just might. Hint, that’s why I call it the... Sign in to see full entry.
