No mainstream publisher would ever publish this story. Why? Well, ‘cos it doesn’t “ show”, it “ tells ” – the worst sin that a writer of short stories ( or book ) can commit. Tut! Tut! Ariel, you leave nothing to the reader’s imagination, do you? It’s all told narrative, and as such, it’s … well, not to put too fine a point on it, old chap, it’s crap.
