So who's to blame for the rising price of gas?
Before the summer vacation season, all we heard in the news about gas prices was how demand for oil was soaring in China and India. Now all of a sudden the new wave of price increases in oil and gas are America's fault, as if demand in China and India has suddenly vanished. Blame America first,...

Are a nation's borders sovereign or not?
In a comment on another blog, the claim was made that the Iraq war was illegal because it violated another nation's borders. Besides the obvious problem of Iraq having violated the borders of Kuwait and Iran (and, through its support of terrorism, Israel), the claim runs into anothe big snag. If...

Iraqis found chained to walls of terrorist torture room!
I wonder where this leaves the Guantanamo = Gulags crowd. After all, if air conditioning, three square meals a day and taxpayer-funded Qu'rans and prayer rugs are the same as the gulags, the concentration camps and Pol Pot, to what evil can chaining a torture victim to the wall be equated?

Medicine for the Pursuit of Happiness
SLOWDOWN THERAPY Slow down; God is still in heaven. You are not responsible for doing it all yourself, right now. Remember a happy, peaceful time in your past. Rest there. Each moment has richness that takes a lifetime to savor. Set your own pace. When someone is pushing you, it's OK to tell them...

Is America on the right track, or not?
Two news items, heard on the radio with not even a breath between: Bush’s approval numbers are down, and only 30-something percent of Americans think the country is on the right track. Immediately following: Tax revenues exceed projections, allowing deficits to be reduced. Well, well... I thought...

WEALTH: EARNED, PRODUCED OR DISTRIBUTED?
Sent to me by a friend: WEALTH: EARNED, PRODUCED OR DISTRIBUTED? The New York Times is reporting with great fanfare that the gap between the rich and the poor is rising. They seem aghast that the top.1 percent of income earners are raking in an average of $3 million a year. Furthermore, That's only...

Liberals and the level playing field
Liberals are fond of claiming that they are all for having a level playing field. If so, then where were they when the playing field of the United States Senate was so grossly out of level for the President's judicial appointees and John Bolton? They were doing all they could to make it steeper.

Questions I want the liberals to answer
How does it feel to have the great conservative justice Clarence Thomas, target of so much liberal hatred, defending states' rights concerning use of marijuana for medicinal purposes? If Bush is an idiot because of his grades at Yale, what does that make Kerry, with his four Ds in his freshman year?...

Did al Qaeda terrorists destroy Qu'rans? If so, where's the outrage?
With all the rioting and other outrages that greeted a false Fictionweek report that American guards had desecrated Qu'rans - the very Qu'rans they had given the detainees, you're welcome! - at Guantanemo, I find it odd that there have not been any reports of protests against the al Qaeda terrorists...

Would someone please define "extraordinary circumstances"?
Now that the so-called "moderates" (the Republicans among whom are better described as sellouts) in the Senate have brokered a back-room compromise that allows judicial nominees to continue to be filibustered in the event of "extraordinary circumstances," would someone please define what consitutes...
