Welcome, cantey 1975!

Fine vintage, that! What a great metaphor for the spectacle. Those senators are completely out of their league. I was thinking of midgets and a giant, but I don't want to anger the left by being politically incorrect.

Twodog, what a contrast between the rude, arrogant, obnoxious, pompous, disingenuous and ignorant windbags and Judge Roberts. Biden especially did nothing but lampoon his own sense of self-importance. I thought Judge Roberts came across at times, out of sheer neccessity, as sounding like he were lecturing the remedial class at law school.

it was like listening to a man joust with a broadsword against men armed with spoons.

I watched the hearings today, and never have I been so impressed with a lawyer. This guy is brilliant, and the inquisitors were not match for him. While they had to ask their questions from a pre-prepared list, his answers, including refrerences to obscure, decades old rulings were from memory. If Judge Roberts is an example of the kind of judicial candidates the President nominates, it would be of great benefit to the United States if another one or two Supremes decided to call it quits and retire.
