Instincts 1 Heart 0

When the Stillers beat the Patriots and Iggles in back to back weeks during the middle of the season, I told all of my friends that were raving about them to see me in January when it counts. Well, it's January. And the Pats and Iggles are going to the Super Bowl. Not surprised. Not one bit. I went... Sign in to see full entry.

CPR.........Please!

Survive and advance? Well the Pittsburgh Stillers took that to another level Saturday night in their 20-17 AFC playoff victory against the New York Jets. In a game that the Jets had two chances to win, the Stillers watched as Doug Brien missed two late field goals in regulation before Jeff Reed... Sign in to see full entry.

Are You Kidding Me? Playoffs?

This weekends NFL playoffs was theatre of the absurd. Only three of the teams that played, the Jets, Chargers and Colts, even deserved to be there. The other five should be docked their playoff shares. Both 8-8 teams won in the NFC. This, my friends, is not a sign of conference strength, but of... Sign in to see full entry.

To Play or Not To Play

That was the question this weekend. Most teams opted not to play. And for those teams that did not benefit from it, well that's just too bad. Buffalo was one of those teams that was supposed to benefit from the Stillers having nothing to play for. And they would have if Tommy Maddox had stayed in... Sign in to see full entry.

Talk Is Cheap

Let's start with the Baltimore Ravens. Being a Stillers fan living in Maryland, all last week I had to listen to what the Ravens were going to do to my boys and how the Stillers didn't want to play them and how they were ready for their playoff push. They wanted the Pittsburgh Stillers and they got... Sign in to see full entry.

T.O. Update

This is an addendum to my usual NFL Monday blog which you will find below. It was written before I knew the full extent of T.O.'s injury. Now I hear that he is out for the season and more than likely the playoffs after having surgery on his ankle. This may have opened the door for the Atlanta... Sign in to see full entry.

Breaking It Down

Since my Stillers are already in the playoffs, I can relax and watch the rest of the season. So I spent this weekend trying to find out what each of the guaranteed playoff teams weaknesses are. I'm not even going to bother with anyone other than Philly and Atlanta in the NFC, because no one else in... Sign in to see full entry.

Git 'er Done

Whatever it takes. That was the theme of the NFL's 14th week. Just about every division front runner faced stiff competition and all of them came through. If you were lucky enough to have DirecTV, then you were able to see the three 11-1, now 12-1, teams at 1:00, 4:00 and 8:30. Let's start with the... Sign in to see full entry.

PLAYoffs!

Yes, I'm talking about playoffs. But first a couple of things. Last week, Tom Jackson of ESPN's NFL Countdown said that it was the best week of the season for the Monday night "Jacked Up" segment. Well, this week was even better, so if you get a chance, check it out. And second, I'm going to go out... Sign in to see full entry.

Reality Check

Alright Ravens fans, let's get a couple of things straight. First off, Kyle Boller is not going to win any football games for you against good competition anytime soon. Second, all of the comaprisons between this team and the 2000 Super Bowl champs must cease now. The 2000 version of Ray Ray's Boys... Sign in to see full entry.
