The NFL Returns to Washington

On Saturday, December 24, 2005, the NFL officially returned to our Nation's Capitol as the Washington Redskins put down the New York Giants 35-20 at Fedex Field in Landover, Maryland. It's nice to see. I hate the 'Skins owner, Daniel Snyder for too many reasons to get into. But growing up in this... Sign in to see full entry.

It Is Unlikely....

To ever happen again. That is the last line from the 1972 Miami Dolphins team highlight film. The undefeated, 17-0, Miami Dolphins. And after Sunday, they are still the only NFL team to finish a season without a loss. The Indiannapolis Colts were beaten by the San Diego Chargers in the RCA Dome... Sign in to see full entry.

A Little Love and A Little Hate

Which there is a thin line when it comes to rooting for ones football team. But this week, I will give a little of each and eat a little crow while I'm at it. I hate the Dallas Cowboys and am not a big fan of Gus Frerotte of the Miami Dolphins, but today, I love them. Because by them beating the... Sign in to see full entry.

The Rivalries

Just got done freezing my ass off this weekend while reffing a flag football tournament, so I didn't get to see too many games. But thanks to "NFL Primetime" I'm caught up nd with the Sunday Ticket I can catch the half hour version of each game later in teh week. But I know enough to know that this... Reality TV!

For me, it's not "Survivor", "Fear Factor" or any of those wife swapping, mom swapping and nanny shows(which are all staged in some form or fashion). Don't even mention "American Idol" or that stupid "next model" show or any of that MTV crap. No, it's a football field 100 yards long and 53 and a... Sign in to see full entry.

In Your Face...Playing for Ones Money,and....DA BEARS!

Norv Turner returned to Fedex Field as head coach of the Oakland Raiders to face his former employees, the Washington Redskins. I was at the game and kicked myself for not bringing binoculars so that I could look in the owners box at one Daniel Snyder, whom I can't stand. So, as you may have... Sign in to see full entry.

I HATE THE COLTS!......And that's the problem.

Because head coach Tony Dungy is my man. I remember him from his playing days in Pittsburgh and have followed his coaching career ever since. Thought he got screwed by the Bucs when they let him go and am glad to see him doing well with the Colts. But the main reason why I root for Dungy is because... Sign in to see full entry.

LT of SD

LeDanian Tomlinson is the best running back in the NFL, bar none. He runs, he catches, he throws. He has thrown three TD passes this year on the halfback option. And, today in New York, he did an Al Bundy and scored four touchdowns in one game. He is an offensive attack unto himself. You could see... Sign in to see full entry.

TE's and Tedy B.

From Tony Gonzales and Antonio Gates, to Bubba Franks and Dallas Clark, the position of tight end is back in the NFL. Yesterday, Gonzalez of the Chiefs, who is the best at the moment with Gates right on his heels, caught seven for 97 yards and a TD. Bubba Franks of Green Bay caught eight for 73 and... Home Sweet Home

The Eagles, Giants, Vikings and Seahawks were done. All of them. And, somehow, they each found a way to win games at home that were seemingly lost. The Eagles missed on a fourth down when Chunky Soup McNabb(who really is hurting) overthrew his receiver with two and a half minutes to play.... Sign in to see full entry.
