A girls best friend

This story is based on life and times in the segregation era in america. The moral is: friendship comes in many shades; many forms. And one should judge carefully when they seek to know who is friend or foe. “We goin' to Richmond, Mista,” Trish said. She was the only black girl—that I knew of—in Sissonville, at the time. Her momma’d come to West Virginia from Richmond, years ago. I figured that the lady was runnin’ from somethin’, or somebody; and stopped in Sissonville to gather her strength...
