a lover's quarrel...ever tried the old 'leave her a single rose' approach?

Prompt: After a walk on the beach you return to your spot to find a red rose carefully placed in your beach chair. Form chosen: Shakespearean Sonnet, 14 lines, abab;cdcd;efef;gg.
