Do flu's bug you?

It so interesting to see this swine flu pandemic unfold. My husband is in the health care field and is taking every precaution to the tenth degree. Hand sanitizer for all the kids. Stocking up on all meds. I understand his responsibility in the field and respect him for that. I just don't want him... Sign in to see full entry.

I can sleep at night...

I'm in one of those rare cocoon moments in life when everything is is disarray and I am blissfully happy. I sleep without worrying about the conversations of my day. I wake and dress quickly so the workers don't catch me in my pajamas. I don't feel like I have to put on any makeup or do my hair... Sign in to see full entry.

Words heal: bring solutions

There is an expectation that our daughters have, that I find so interesting. Not quite sure if it’s inherent to their process as a female, or if they have learned this behavior in social modeling. I’ve begun to witness how they would like you to notice something “different” about them. It could be... Sign in to see full entry.

Jumping Beagles!

I should be used to it by now, I know I should. I've been doing food parties at this house for about five years and these Beagles have been a part of the family since that time. They can defy gravity. Somehow they are able to jump onto dining room tables, and can leap up over the edge of a kitchen... Sign in to see full entry.

Still...just the pieces

Have you ever stumbled upon a story that leaves your heart weary. You hold the most devastating part of the knowledge you wished you never really knew in the first place. But there it is before you, like the bowl of split pea soup you were forced to eat as a kid. Swallowing the information feels... Sign in to see full entry.

Demolition begins

Our kitchen is having an extreme makeover. If you’ve ever gone through this process you know it is one of big decisions as well as long range vision. Being a person who is not exactly adept at picturing how something will turn out, I found it stressful and tedious. I needed someone I could trust to... Sign in to see full entry.

What is it about a childs Birthday

..that brings you back to the actual day day of their birth. I've spent my day feeling like a yo-yo bouncing between then and now. Laughter to tears, and back again. I remember the friend I was to meet for lunch when instead my water broke and I ended up in the hospital. I remember the exceptionally... Sign in to see full entry.

Our Party in Paradise

Here is a recap of my cruise. Any questions, just ask. Our Party in Paradise The boat may be docked, but my world has yet to stop swaying. Feeling the movement of the ship is keeping the memories of the trip even more alive than usual. Instead of the reality crash of life I have the seduction of the... Sign in to see full entry.

Touched by love

I delight in being witness to love. In its truest most innocent form it is new, vibrant and growing. It has a subtle energy all its own. It feels like a gift to be able to see it in this crazy busy world of ours. I wonder if it’s something everyone could see if they watched for it. Or is it a skill... Sign in to see full entry.

The photographs that line my walls

Call out memories from the attic of my mind. The beauty of the country that gave my father his name Invite be back to the place my ancestors called home. Things that matter stare back at me From their supposed two dimensional walls Though the way the touch my heart Feels to defy the restraints of... Sign in to see full entry.
