How do you make a serious child laugh?

Took my son to an open gym today to play with others kids
He is such a serious lad. He looked around for the first ten minutes, taking everything in like a sponge. When I sat him down on the mats, he looked up at me questioningly. My son's 1st reading lesson didn't go as I planned
