As the 10 th anniversary of the World Trade Center attacks approaches, there is no escaping my memories that come fast and furious. In a NYC commuter town just 30 miles from mid-town Manhattan, I had plenty of friends who worked in New York every day. Astonishingly, not one close friend was killed that day, but most of my friends had at least a family member or acquaintance who lost their life. Another Bloody Day in Israel in the Calm Resort Town of Eilat
Hamas (and All Terrorists) Celebrate Those Who Cause Death, calling them "martyrs." Israeli's laud those who PREVENT the death of others. It's early yet and I have no idea whether or not I know anyone killed or injured in today's terrorist attack in southern Israel (Eilat is a popular spot for Americans and Israelis and I know many people traveling there now), but I did get this link from a cousin who lives outside of Tel Aviv. This is Why Ultra Right Wingers Make Me Physically Ill
It was just a matter of time before someone like Anders Behring Breivik took up a gun to shoot teenage campers who just happened to be studying democracy and tolerance on a secluded, bucolic island in Norway. The guy - a Radical Rightist - ironically conducted the very type of operation he believed all those of Muslim faith capable of; the mass slaughter of innocent human beings.
