The Gift

Hi, all I got up this morning to winter or at least fall back again. Strong winds and rain just pelleting down; where is summer? However, when I took the time to think about it and not just complain I realized we will only appreciate Spring and Summer more when they get here (albeit without the... Sign in to see full entry.

Who knows?

If we go to the hospital tomorrow and find ourselves in a position of not being able to talk, write or indicate our desires for medical treatment, do we have a legal instrument in place to take us through this storm in the manner we wish? I really want to keep our snakes (again remember not poison) as they keep down the moles, bugs, mice and many other pests. The problem is... Sign in to see full entry.

Moles

Do you have moles in your yard? Many of us do and they are not easy to get rid of. They also kill plants, leave mounds of dirt all over the yard, which are hazards when mowing the grass. They seem to like anything used to get them out of the yard including traps. Not really wanting to kill them I... Sign in to see full entry.

Small Blank Ants

I have found that for the little black ants the best prevention is vinegar and water (2 parts to 1). I truly have no idea why this works, but it really does. I have tried everything from ant traps to cinnamon and nothing works like vinegar/water. This will not hurt pets or children if the walk or... Sign in to see full entry.

Natures,pets and humans first

Do you ever worry about the pesticides being used to discourage those pesky problems around the house? I began several years ago using alternatives to the hazardous to humans ones. And then I branched out to using a lot of the alternatives to many areas of the household. Now you probably have far... Sign in to see full entry.
