Experienced in content writing, medical research writing and recently having my book published has honed my writing ability. I also have written books one published, one at a publisher and one in process. Writing articles for several on-line publications has been wonderful experience to round out my abilities.  Workings in the geriatric field one fact stands out families do not communicate effectively.  They may talk daily or weekly; however when you say if you cannot speak today due to a stroke which has left you with the inability to speak or write, who would know your inner most needs?   For most families this is the eye-opener which will draw communication.  My blog is my way of providing the catalyst.

My background is varied, although my professional life has just always moved to the geriatric population and general to the terminally ill.  I have spent my work life one step at a time moving in this direction.  Tools gained during this time have proven vital in my profession, although were not gained with that purpose.  From researching how and why an American crashed their private plane in a foreign country, to getting the remains back; counseling within an adversarial dynamic such as a Legal Guardianship or a prison has provided tools and insight beyond any of my degrees.

I love people and hope to help make those golden years the best they can be; while helping adult children to understand how and why some life changes or events are necessary for them to grow from.

My published book is Caregiving Tips for Everyone by M.G. Walker  I write for Examiner.com and have for three years.  You can catch up with me there at Seattle Cargivers http://exm.nr/MkKxTa or for fun at Queen Anne Dogs
