An Encounter

She stepped from the corners of midnight, Woven from moonlight and dreams With eyes that murmured of soft delights And a smile that took love to extremes. Her voice was the soft coo of the dove As she tenderly murmured his name And, enchanted by visions of her love, He would never be quite the same. Sign in to see full entry.

Good Enough

Sometimes I don't know What it is I want to do Or where I want to go. I don't know what I aspire to, Who or what I ought to be Or how I think I should get there; Sometimes I just want to be me, To sit back and not care About all of that stuff And sometimes that's good enough. In A Rush

The days blur, Hour into hour, week to week Each moment lost in a stream Of unappreciated time. Feelings stir, Roused from torpor, raised to seek An echo of a forgotten dream That may teach me to climb Out of the trench and learn to be Alert, aware, alive and free. Sign in to see full entry.

Disregarded, disrespected, Thought to be the worst of men, The least unpopular elected To let the voters down again; Unthinking and uninformed They create and break the rules, Venal corruption is the norm In our parliament of fools. Sign in to see full entry.

I Smile

I smile. Empty of ideas, I stare at an empty page Not thinking of a word to write And smile. Unbothered by fears Or the ravages of futile rage I have no cause to fight, I smile. Not worried by cost, The miser's game of give and take Or droughts of revenue I smile. Never feeling lost Or complaining... Sign in to see full entry.

Walker

He chased the road, Following where it led Just to see where it went And enjoy where it's been. He never slowed, Moving on instead Of finding a spot to rent And recalling what he'd seen, For him that is a kind of death And the road and freedom are his breath. Sign in to see full entry.

Rain

The rain falls. Panicked people flee To the nearest shelter, Lurching to where safety dwelt. Summer squalls Didn't seem so bad to me As, refusing to skelter, I braved the rain and didn't melt. Sign in to see full entry.
