Stood up for a job interview, and other things.

We got snow here in New York today! Only about two inches, but still, it stuck. This winter has also been colder than it was last year. But still, even though the temperature was in the 30s today, I have no heat in my apartment. So, because I couldn't stand to be cold anymore, I went up to Bed, Bath and Beyond to get a space heater. Now my room is all warm and toasty! Now for the rest of the apartment... I've also been trying to recover from a cold. The runny nose has stopped, but I've still got... Sign in to see full entry.

Ten days

Its been a long time since I wrote last (I think I'm always saying that), and I think my rating must be in the toilet! Anyways, a lot has been going on. I spent Thanksgiving at my parents', and I've more or less been busy with work over the past ten days or so. The essay I promised I'd post! Let me know what you think.

I’d been searching for a job in book publishing for a year and a half when I went on a job interview and was asked some highly personal questions about my economic background. I’d had several internships at other literary agencies in New York City and I’d also worked as a... Sign in to see full entry.

Various things

It's been a quiet weekend. Yesterday I ran errands, and today I wrote quite a bit. The essay I wrote is about 800 words long, and I think its good--maybe I'll post it here, sometime. I was supposed to go to the bank yesterday, but my paycheck didn't arrive in the mail, so I'll have to call my temping service to see what happened to it. I also spent a little bit of time trying to unt down an inexpensive copy of this book-- Sin And the Second City, about these two madams in Chicago about a hundred... Sign in to see full entry.

Working and writing

A lot has been going on a work, so I'm being kept busy. Gone are the days when I could just sit at my desk and read--now I'm being given extra things to do, which is keeping me on my toes, constantly. On the plus side, again, I feel as though I'm making a contribution; on the other, I haven't had much time for my job search, or even to write the woman that I met with on Monday a proper thank-you note. Thankfully, Thanksgiving is coming up, so we'll have that four-day weekend. I'm going to... Sign in to see full entry.
