A Tree Grows in Brooklyn

I had the day off from work today, due to the holiday. So I scheduled an informational interview with an editor at Grand Central Publishing (formerly Warner Books). We talked for about an hour, about the industry, and she gave me some really great advice. She did the same kind of thing I did, doing informational interviews. I don't know what else to do, in my job search, except make as many cotacts as I can and hope that it leads to job opportunities down the road. Though I've been hoping for... Its just tat I haven't had much to say. Actually, my roommate is moving out and I'm in the process of trying to find a new one--combing Craigslist again. It's an exhausting process, and I hate doing it. But I have a few people coming by to look at the apartment, so we'll see what happens. One of them is due to come in the next half an hour or so, so I don't have that much time to write. But I thought I might as well do so, just to let you all know that I'm still alive.:-). I just wasn’t in a good mood today; I had the biggest headache at work. For all the good stuff, there are certain things that really irritate me. I hate it when people take receptionists for granted. For example, I hate it when callers call back and chew my ear off because someone in the Bronx office or in agency services down in the Manhattan office isn’t answering their phone or returning phone calls. As an early Christmas gift, I got a bed from my parents. After nearly a year of practucally sleeping on the floor, its a welcome change. The bed was supposed to arrive on Saturday, but it came early and now its sitting in my front hall because its too heavy to move. I may have to have my old roommate help me carry it up the stairs. And hate the fact that the temperature changes so much during the day. Today began with me wearing a t-shirt, sweater, and jacket, as well as a hat, scarf and gloves. During the day it warmed up so much that I began stripping off various articles of clothing. So that when I left work at 4:30, I was down to the t-shirt and sweater, no jacket, hat, scarf or gloves.
