Unaccustomed Earth

I just finished reading Jhumpa Lahiri's Unaccustomed Earth - a collection of short stories. She is of Indian origin - born in India, lived in the UK and now in the US. Totally Seductive Red-White Lily

Lilies appear every year, announcing spring. Four days ago, walking in the back garden I saw three pots of these lilies in various stages of bloom. Lilies in the Field

Last week when I was in the hills with my sister I came across this lily, which I also saw last year. Away from Blogit

Who's seen The Bucket List?

Day before yesterday (March 21) I saw The Bucket List. A film starring Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman it is funny, poignant and beautiful. March 21, an amazingly extra special day

Yesterday was an extra special day. It marked a significant observance for people of five different faiths. I started this blog in mid-March 2006 when I moved to Kabul, Afghanistan, for a four-month assignment. In mid-July I moved back to India, and am continuing the blog.
