Covered Wagon Traveling (no Internet)

Our horses were neatly concealed beneath the hood or our SUV. We pulled into watering holes for petrol at least once a day. There was no need for water or oil. All had been prepared. Saturday morning early, M called me to the porch and showed me a white burro on the mountainside. It was a good omen... Sign in to see full entry.

Tucumcari

The New Mexico Indians used a very tall mountain/bluff as a place of lookout for enemies. Today a town stands at the base of Tucumcaari mountain. The word translated means generally "Looking out for you." We really need to do more of that, looking out for each other I mean. It is fascinating to... Sign in to see full entry.

Eleven hours on the road

I don't think I ever saw so many trucks as today! They were little trucks, trucks transporting cars and boats and engines, there were vans with groups of people and all going so fast. The 70 MPH turned into 80 MPH just to keep from getting run over. We traveled I -81. We are now in Tenn and having a... Sign in to see full entry.

Running my legs off, well at least making them tingle

Today has been a blessing. My friend who underwent surgery did well. Now we will wait for his healing. Thanks to all of you who are praying for him. Well, I went to the County Landfill, exciting eh? Then the bank and Insurance Office and of yes I had a 9 am meeting, drug store and out for lunch with... Sign in to see full entry.

Courage in the face of danger

Each of us at one time or another faces danger. My friend who is in the hospital will have additional surgery tomorrow to remove four toes. We visited him today and he was so up beat that he offered to watch our dog when we travel. He is talking about the next job he will have will be different... Sign in to see full entry.

Further into the night

Excitement is a great motivator. Here it is about 4 a.m. and I just finished a load of laundry and scrubbed the oven a bit and put all the dishes away, taken from the dishwasher. I am cleaning up after the last night's dinner party. The weather has tipped down to 55 degrees on my front porch and it... Sign in to see full entry.

Good Evening World

Today was a wonderful Saturday. The weather was terrific and tonight the air is clear and cool. Fall is a lovely time and it seems to be coming here. It was a special day, we celebrated my granddaughter's birthday. The real date is Sept 21, but we celebrated early. We ate dinner on the front porch... Sign in to see full entry.

I did not experience the hight cost of medical care today,

I got to tell you it was a l o n g d a y! About 8 a.m I left the house, drove in the middle of interstate going -to- work traffic for about 35 minutes. I arrived 20 minutes early. Things were looking good. An hour later I was taken into the medical examining room where I was told the doctor would be... Sign in to see full entry.

Like the little train who thought he could

I acknowledge the greatness of God. I am forever getting myself into situations that require great assistance. I seem to hide things from me. I hide car keys, cell phones, purse, and often a letter or a bill. In all this confusion I know He is looking out after me. Recently I reevaluated my life and... Sign in to see full entry.

Suffering or celebrating that is the question.

There are some times when you are torn between sadness and gladness. Today I treated my granddaughter to lunch and also my sister-in-law. We found a nice little seafood place. Granddaughter R is having a birthday in two weeks and I will not be here, so today we celebrated her birthing day. No more... Sign in to see full entry.
