I just sold a $600 painting. My highest price yet.

I remember when I started all of my 16' by 20" paintings on eBay at $7.50!! This one was three feet by four feet, a Guatemalan Indian girl with a blanket on her head. Today I finished painting a boy from San Juan Atita'n, Huehuetenango who sells flowers. It is about two feet by four feet, long and... Sign in to see full entry.

I have entered the 'cheating phase' of my folk art painting business.

I bought an Argus slide projector on eBay for one dollar. I bought a twenty dollar box of 500 or so slides on eBay, slides of tourists and poor quality photos culled from travel collections being sold. The seller was culling people out of the travel of their travel slide collections and I asked... Sign in to see full entry.

Photo slideshow of research photos for my paintings...

I paint Guatemalan and Mexican Indians on canvas sometimes and I can never find enough photos of fabulous textiles to use and to reuse. A wonderful fellow and his wife were delivering textiles from Southern Mexico and Guatemala to the UNICEF store here in town. I asked for permission to photograph... Sign in to see full entry.

Thanks for procrastination prayers...I am renewed.

I have not done much in some people's eyes, however to me, it feels like I have begun another journey. I finished re-arranging the studio, cleaning the floors, walls, ceilings and shelves and removing half of the things from the area. Then, two nights ago, I sat down, put the audio book Midnight... Keep good business records as the IRS could audit at any moment.

I know this for a fact. It has just happened to me! Now, where did I put my old returns and their records and receipts and my workbooks??!?!?! I have been housecleaning and re-arranging things in a fairly haphazard manner recently. Oops. Sign in to see full entry.

Prolonged illness changes a business plan.

I had so many prototypes to make, so many wonderful things to create and instead made nothing, watched my income drop by one third and with the lack of health insurance and a real doctor who follows my care and actually diagnoses something, well, the plan got tossed. I am trying to develop a new... Sign in to see full entry.

My first shipment of Angel Coffee Mugs arrived in the USA.

The importers sent me two cartons of them and Mom took one carton (boxes of four of the same design, six different designs in all, so, 24 mugs) and gave them all away to female relatives and my sister took the second carton and gave them all away to her teachers at her daycare center. They are not... Sign in to see full entry.

Doing community things for exposure and renown.

I began to say Yes more often when community people asked me to do things for their organizations. There are moments when I beat myself like a Penitente in disbelief at my over commitment to good works. I built five altares at the Centro Cultural in downtown Tucson last Sunday. They are for the Day... Sign in to see full entry.

Even sick people can be productive

I managed to get a few prototypes out to the California company that will reproduce my Alaskan angels and Northern lights nativity scene. It took me almost two years, but I slowly did the research and formed the pieces and mailed them off this week. It was so very difficult to finalize, and the work... Sign in to see full entry.

Oasis Trade Show of Southwestern gifts, etc...in Glendale, Phx, AZ

I am to help man a booth for American Legacy Products, the reproducers of my artwork. I invented seven new storytellers for them and had no time to get them into production. so, as usual, I shall be taking orders off of the prototypes. They will be introducing my newest nativity scene, a traditional... Sign in to see full entry.
