Walls seem to be all the rage. At first it was cliff dwellings to keep out

the riff raff and enemies and johnny-come-latelys. Then it was castle walls and moats and now it is gated communities. Arizona, California, New Mexico and Texas build a wall to make Berlin's look like kindergartners put it up during play time and now Rio is putting up walls to 'contain' the favelas.... About this Blog

I wondered if anyone was reporting from the frontlines of American Society, embedded with the poverty stricken and reporting on what happens each day when you live in the greatest country on earth and earn enough to survive and not much else. I wondered if anyone was explaining America to others and thought that, since I was already embedded in this ongoing cultural experiment, I might tell what it's like.
