Re: Walls
VanArsdale, well, it was paritally true. The westerners were going into other parts of Berlin with newspapers and western attitudes and making the natives restless, influencing elections, etc., so keeping them out was vital to controlling their people.

Each side of a wall has it's viewpoint, surely.

And, everyone and I mean *everyone* in southwest uses anyone who will work at terrible, under paid and hellish jobs like deep desert cooking in the sun work, building stupid and mean walls, so, yup, funny and ironic. America, that's what we are when we aren't being too serious and humorless.

Kabu, it seems to be a new and global solution to social problems and I hate that.

Walls
I remember from my German language class that East Germany explained the Berlin wall was "to keep the Westerners OUT."  Spin existed then and now.

And please tell me that the funniest news story last year was NOT the arrest of the contractor who built the fence between the US and Mexico for using...illegal alien workers.
