Sea Gypsy, I think Uncle George was awesome. I believe aunts and uncles are so important in a child's life. I know my uncles and their families were very important in my life. I hope you are having a good week and that it's cooled off. It's heating up here again.

What a sweetie your uncle was. Where I went to school, a teacher tried to make our Lefty write with his right hand. Messed that child up badly. Back in those days !!!!

You had a wonderful uncle. I felt the pain of being unable to grasp a concept that others get. It is especially rough when you’re young. Kudos to your parents for finding a way to help you, too

Good morning. This is so relatable. My husband and his two brothers are left-handed, but John had an elementary school teacher who punished him for using his left hand, so he is now ambidextrous. Our three daughters are left-handed. The same thing happened to our middle daughter in the first grade. It was really hard to teach them to tie their shoes, so their left-handed uncle taught the girls.

Oh Boy....you bring back such memories with this post. I'm from a big family of seven children. My Sister Barbara was the closest in age to me and we did everything together. I am right handed and she was left handed (was...she died many years ago). The two of us did everything together and backwards from each other. She was better and faster in everything so I thought left-handedness was a special gift and I had missed out on something special.

My son Rusty was left-handed, but as he told me, this meant he was right-brained, and it gave him an edge in school, he was superior at reading/remembering. It may seem like a problem, but in the long run, it was a gift.

I suppose if everyone were left-handed it would be as difficult to change. Congrats on persevering at such a young age. I always was in trouble sometimes I would write with the words sloping backwards it was considered a mortal sin by the old fogies who taught us.
They were too intimidating to ask if one could slope the words forward.🌺
