Sea_Gypsy.....Boy does that take me back 50 years or so. We had four sons and a love for the outdoors and doing what seemed impossible in the four-corners area of the US and that included the area you write about here as well as hiking down the Grand Canyon, white water rafting and so many other things. The last time for me was when my youngest son turned 18 and got a full-time job, Ribcage joined the Navy and the other two got married.

What a great story throughout! I loved how you entwined it. Well done. I'm very excited for them! It worked out perfectly. I admire you took care of MIL, don't forget to pat yourself on the back because this got started with your commitment to help them have a glorious vacation. I love it when everybody works selflessly together!

Great story, perfect tie-in thread - love the image of finding a pristine pool with perfect rocks for jumping off into it, and the unforeseen coincidences that made it possible.
