This was rather poignant. Crazy how pedigree is determined by dress. The most intelligent get cast aside for all the wrong reasons. I was happy when I went to college the dress code was not the uppity kind. I would not have been able to afford it otherwise. I wore tshirts and corduroy pants! Ironic but the degrees were printed on the same paper! It's so shallow of mankind to put people in their slots by appearance, it goes on to this day.

Your poem touches on so many different arenas. I agree that one must be gracious, as poverty can happen to anyone in a flash. The man inhaling the nicotine had me coughing worse than all the wildfire smoke did. I am so grateful that I could quit after smoking for 26 years. I haven't touched a cancer stick since Thanksgiving of 2007.
