Pat I used to wait often until 11pm for the trains whistle. I knew it carried baby chicks and usually in March it was cold and the railway men were inclined to place the boxed chicks by the big stove thinking they needed to be kept warm, but there was no need as they were packed tight and needed to be put under lamps. I sometimes think I must have been mad. 🌺
