In these very hot summer days, all I need is a cool room and any bed will do. But my wife is quite fussy 😫 if it is not according to her liking.

Sea Gypsy, thanks for the info. I will have to check it out. My grandson Caeser has a big bed in his room. He's 6ft 4" and I always have to buy him bigger blankets. I think I'm going to take your advice on sticking with the Queen. I do like my bed. I hope you have a good night.

I’m like you. I prefer soft or Plush they say. I would stay with the queen size bed since that’s what you are used to. You lose length on a double and even being short, one notices that. I went from a queen to a double in the guest bedroom and now my grandsons can’t fit because they arre over 6’2”. Thr Beautyrest Black pillowtop is comfy. but everyone is different. Good luck with it.

Finding the right bed can be a challenge as you have documented. I am fortunate to have a very comfortable bed. I have an adjustable bed with firm mattress I bought from Denver Mattress. I like that you have a bit of humor throughout this saga!

Well the tide must soo turn in your favor . I have always found that they feel different tp when one tries them out at the store. But by the law of averages you should hit lucky.🌺

Oh, geez. A good night's sleep is so vital to a person's health. Having the perfect bed takes a bit of doing, but I believe you will finally find your Goldilocks' bed. Good luck!

Sea Gypsy, I loved your post. I love the way you spin a real-life saga. I need a new bed, and I'm sure it will not be easy to find the right one. I like very soft mattresses, and everyone I know prefers firmer ones. I hope I can find the one I like. My bed is a queen-size, and my room is small, so I'm wondering if I should get a regular size. Every time I think about this, I come to a standstill. I'm in the process of remodeling my bedroom, and there are so many decisions to be made. So far, the only thing I've decided for sure is that I want my TV on the wall. I hope you find the perfect mattress. Have a good day.

Your post just made it clear why I haven't replaced my bed, although that twin-size just doesn't offer the comfort of a full. And I miss the down comforter that I gave to a relative when I downsized a few years back.
