I can appreciate your purchase option. Land is more valuable than AC, LOL. I appreciate having central air. Living in the desert it is a must. We are still in the Spring so you have time to get the AC before summer heat arrives. Enjoy the cool weather while you can.

Good Evening

CCT, sometimes it gets too hot, and we have to use the air.  Have a good night.

Well I suppose it is old fashioned but we just use fans. Up to now we really have not endured terribly hot summers but I think the tide is turning. The old Cotswold stone houses are in a way well insulated, I wonder about the new builds older houses are two brick cavity but a new build which I saw recently was one brick cavity and a kind of board. Always hang on to land it is the only thing that really increases in value., well money loses value faster than an ice cream on a hot day.

Having land is a blessing. It allows you to do so many more outdoor activities in your own private space. Your house and yard are beautiful. I like the charm of older homes. Ours was built in 1910. Window units tend to run cheaper than central air. Tomorrow is going to be a scorcher. Better get those babies installed ASAP. Enjoy your day.

Goldiec....

I'm glad to live in a place where, if the AC goes out that someone else has to see to fixing it.  For the first 40 years of my life the only respite in horribly uncomfortable heat was window fans and they really were not very helpful....especially on hot humid nights.

Here's hoping the temp and humidity stays mild until your A/C is installed.

I believe you will be able to save energy with the window units. They're also equipped with energy saving features.
