When life is full of obstacles and uncertainty it clouds what the present is offering. I would have been frightened with the eyesight not having answers as well. You were experiencing things in your young age at the time that many adults don't ever have to deal with. You have come through it all and able to enjoy your home! Kudos to you!

Yes it is a worry if ones eyes create problems. Eventually most folk have to have treatment. It is the trouble if one manages to keep jogging along. You would not want to buy a house now.

Wow! Talk about a trifecta. You were hit massively from all angles. I guess this is where the saying, "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger," comes from. I believe we all must experience the bad times before we can fully appreciate the good times. I'm sorry that you dealt with so much on your plate at once, especially at such a young age. I'm happy to know that you are good to go now. My youngest daughter, who is 35, is currently going through more than she can handle. We help her as much as possible, but some of it is her cross to bear.

FSI, I have to say, after all you have been through, I hope it's smooth sailing from this time on. Are you and your Dad going on vacation this year? I think it was truly a blessing for your Grandma to give you her house, and fortunately, it was the perfect time to help you focus on renovating it.
