I totally agree, Manda. They used to have a program called Scared Straight. Where they would bring in young people who were getting into trouble. And they would put them in a cell with a scary convict. Who would tell them why they don't want to be in jail? The disabled are often overlooked because others have not experienced it or have no one with disability. Which is really hard to believe.

Good Evening

Amanda, I'm so happy to know you.  You are such a wonderful person, and your Mom is such a gem.  I'm so thankful that there are people like you who help people in need and guide them along the way.  Life can be so hard, but we all just have to do the best we can.

Amanda.....

I always had a good idea of that, being  a nurse and seeing it everyday and then having a grandson with disabilities, but getting closer to ninety all the time, it has become much more personal (stairs, walker, mopping kitchen floor, etc.)  I have not even tried to go outside since the snow came.  I'm glad I don't have to.

I imagine they are. It takes a strong human to jump all of the hurdles that inevitably get in the way along the path. Good for you for being one of those people. ☺️
