I'm glad that you had a wonderful Christmas day. Kids are resilient. Our two grandkids have adjusted better than expected after our youngest daughter and her husband divorced after 15 years of marriage. Having a support system really does help though.

Back in the day when my four boys were little, they would get new under pants and a one dollar bill with the admonition to "spend it wisely" and that was the way of my mother-in-law (bless her heart.)

Nice to read about kids being kind to one another and staying strong as they grow. We learn so much from them if we're paying attention - Jim's lesson about looking ahead and planning for the future is probably the most useful gift. Peace.
