I can just imagine what it was like! No more, she said. 🌹

I don't blame her one bit. Three months is long time with morning sickness and sea sickness. I'm surprised she didn't lose her mind or have a nervous breakdown. I think folks were far tougher in those days.

Well the genes were over the top. A really stupid idea not letting a woman get fresh air. 🌺🌺

Kabu.....

This is so interesting, it is comparable to the voyage of my Grandma Jelinek and her two little ones.  My Grandpa had already come over before and was already working in a coal mine in Mo.   Only, my grandma was about the only one who did not get seasick and she took care of them.....cleaning up after them...tending to them as well as to her little ones.

I do so admire your g-grandmother, having the nerve to head for a new country even when she was expecting, and then deciding to stay in Adelaide and make a go of things there. Women are super tough when the need arises. Just raising a family is quite an accomplishment, even if one is in a safe and established environment. No wonder Australia is such an amazing place.

Good Morning

Thank goodness your Grandmother made the decision not to get back on the boat.

Three months seems like a long time to be sailing. She had to have been absolutely out of her mind with nausea. Thank goodness he was determined to get her some relief.
