What a great write! I can feel the pain, the loss, the anxiety. I hope Life treated him decently. In those days things were different. I hope they are better now.

The farming years were good when my Dad was a youngster. He was living in the city with his retired parents along with another brother and two sisters.  The family dressed him up in white with a sailor suit color, he had to learn the violin. He hated it, he wanted to be a farmer, couldn't wait to get back to it.

Money isn't everything. Having a loving and supportyive family compensates for the lack of new clothes and fancy meals.
