There's always someone in a family that others just can't seem to get along with. Sometimes a kid gets the wrong end of a parent's decision and feels forever afterward that it was unfair. Whether it was or not, the sense of injustice is always there. I think your handling of it was exactly right. You've been dealing with crunchy family situations (Illness brings out the worst of it) all your grown-up life. Hugs.

It sounds like the kids had a conflicting relationship with their dad growing up, and it has carried over into their adult years. It's not the best time to have a good conversation with a person when they are in poor health.

I really think most folk get more grumpy as they age. Well women don't seem so bad as long as one agrees with their opinion. Only joking. I think I will have a little read it settles the brain. I know it is a rough time.🌺🌺

My paternal grandmother and my great-aunt would always argue. I know Dad liked them in small doses together.
