You and Lisa are wonderful together. Sadly, Jim and myself. are not coping with his illness as well as I would wish.

Re: Pat

In response to your statement about my wife, all I can say is "AMEN!"

I'm the one in the family who gets the most attention (thanks to my stories and such), but I also have a column in a local newspaper, and my 33 years of PR work at the local dirt racetrack help keep my name 'out there.'

With all of that said, my world continues to turn because of Lisa. The dogs are a help, but without my wife, I wouldn't be able to do any of what I do right now.  She keeps me happy, makes my breakfast just the way I want it... and so much more... but. It is her being with me all the time. She always kisses me as we are ready to go to sleep, and she reminds me that even at 72, I am the best man she has ever met. She tells me she has never been happier or felt safer than she feels right now.

We fulfill each other's needs and shortcomings. Just as I drift off to sleep, she kisses the side of my face and thanks me for finding her and giving her the love she needed to stop being with every guy around who would talk to her. If you have read the story I wrote about finding and taming her, you know what I'm talking about.

Anyone who remembers how hyper she was when she first started posting here. She's nothing like that now, and I am thankful.

I love Lisa - she's a great partner to you. And I don't mind at all your reminders about writing and keeping at it and honing it to its sharpest possible point. I recognize it as self-talk, and not ''teaching."  A goofy joke, like sunrise and coffee, make the day better.
