.....this family dilemma brought to mind the works of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow when he wrote, "Life is real, life is earnest and the grave is not the goal....Dust thou art to dust returneth was no spoken of the soul." (I don't know why I thought of that.

Family history can be messy. My parents were very fair when dividing everything they had, splitting it evenly between my sister and me. I think my big sister thought she should get a bigger slice, but Dad was careful. He kept track of the extra help she had asked for over the years, and when he and My Mother died, I got a bigger amount than I expected.

Family history, if not addressed, can leave ill will. Often, we overlook the importance of respecting others' opinions. Not everyone will share your opinion. Who will be the peacemaker?
