Good Day
You and Jim remind me of my wife and me. She is sometimes hesitant to leave the house. Then afterwards, she admits to having enjoyed herself. Yes, I am from Ohio, and it's a large state. I am like Jim. I need to get out of the house from time to time. Occasionally, I like long drives, but not 9 hours. I bet you are tired.

I still enjoy a road trip! Soaring over the landscape, the car is like a low-flying carpet! And parts of Ohio are beautiful, but most especially so in October!
Now, though, half-day trips are more doable than hole-day trips.

When I was married to Roy we went on long drives in the country on weekends. There's a lovely state park about 50 miles north of here - Pere Marquette State Park overlooks the Mississippi River & marks the spot where Father Marquette and the French explorers first landed. It reminds me of the foothills area of Washington where I grew up. I have a hunch your venture into Ohio was something like that.

Kabu......
.....I'm so glad you got back and without incident. There is no way I would go on a trip like that anymore even though I love the beauty of traveling. I'm stuck forever now In Kansas City and I'm happy about that but I look at any and all beautiful photography of places.

How fun! John and I take road trips all the time. Some of them are nowhere in particular. Country drives are my favorite, but the country is becoming harder to find with all of the new buildings and housing going up.
