I have seen Sandpipers before at the beach. They are an interesting type of bird. It has been miserably hot in Pittsburgh this week. Today, the sky opened up and it rained for 15 minutes. I am crossing my fingers that it continues.

Our damp days are behind us. The heat has taken over. I am praying for you and Jim. Again, I told you how many of us men are wired. Most of us struggle with sharing our feelings. Stress is real. And part of the problem of aging as a man centers around our loss of physical ability. When you get sick, on top of it, that magnifies the stress on our identity.

Good Evening
Kabu, I'm wondering if Jim may be suffering from depression. He's been so sick, but I hope that he recovers to enjoy all the things you did together before he got so sick. I loved reading about how you would go for rides and go to the theater. I hope you are staying cool. It's so hot here.

When we visited the beaches on the Washington coast we'd see sandpipers. I thought they were interesting - so unlike the sparrows and robins that lived around our house. Even so, for some reason my favorite bird is the crow. Maybe because they're so intelligent, and it seems to me they 'talk' in code. Four caws in a row means something different than one or two. They repeat it. Crows in the mountain foothills of Washington do it, crows in my old neighborhood in Seattle did it, and crows around here do it. Thanks for the pic of the sandpipers.
