My area did get big storms. I was holding my breath hoping everything would work out all right.

The hot wind we get here from time to time can wilt a tender plant in a few hours. My new hanging chenille plant dries out way too fast! I might bring it into the bathroom hanging gardens to keep up with it!

That's great that you know multicultural measurements, miles, and seasons. It's never too late to learn something new, but hanging on to the old isn't bad either, so long as it isn't bad baggage.

Kabu.....
.......I thought it was a very interesting post on the differences of here and there, esp because I have never been over there. Also I need some help now remembering when seasons begin and end, as well as a whole lot of other things.

You're right, Helen. The facts about how the world works, the seasons, the money used where we are, little home-grown customs that we learn as little kids are what we instinctively expect to be the rules after we're grown, especially when we shift to a different culture. I think you're amazing!
